Woman getting dental exam at Stansell Dentistry Associates in Raleigh, NC
The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends that you brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss at least once daily. These steps are an integral part of your oral care routine, but they are only a part of the equation. Along with at home preventative care, it is important to have regular cleanings and exams. During these visits, we clean all buildup from the surfaces of your teeth, and thoroughly inspect your teeth and gums for signs of decay, cavities, damage, and infection. Along with cleanings and exams, we also offer family dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and sedation.

Family Dentistry

Along with preventative care for adults, we also provide preventative care for children. When your child visits our office, we work to make sure that they are comfortable, which enables us to get them accustomed to dental care. It also helps us to provide your child with the care they need for proper oral development. At Stansell Dentistry Associates we believe in serving the entire family.

Restorative Care

Even those who are diligent in their oral care routines can sometimes face oral health issues. They may be faced with tooth damage as a result of injury or decay. When this happens, the affected tooth becomes more susceptible to further damage and serious infections. We can help to restore the health, and appearance, of your damaged teeth with a variety of different options:
•  Crowns. Crowns are designed to cover and protect damaged teeth. A crown is like a cap, which covers the entire visible surface of the tooth. It works to hold it together, prevent further damage, and protect it from bacterial invasion. Crowns can be made of metal, porcelain fused to metal, or ceramic - which is the best option for aesthetics.
•  Bridges. Bridges are used to replace one to three missing teeth. They consist of your replacement tooth set between two dental crowns. The crowns anchor the bridge into place in your mouth and are secured in place using dental cement.
•  Composite resin fillings. Fillings restore the damage left behind by cavities. While amalgam is often used for its strength, many patients have issues with it because of its mercury content. Not only that, but amalgam fillings stand out in your mouth. Composite resin fillings blend in with the rest of your teeth, so no one can tell that it is there.
•  Dental implants. Dental implants are the latest option for tooth replacement. It involves the use of small titanium rods that are surgically inserted into the jawbone, which anchors your replacement teeth securely in place. Implants are often preferred because they provide multiple benefits, including permanence, comfort, and preservation of the jawbone.

Cosmetic Care

Along with the health of your mouth, the appearance of your smile is also important. A good smile makes a great first impression. When your teeth are discolored or have other imperfections, it can leave a negative impact, and it can affect your confidence. We can provide you with the cosmetic services you need to restore the beauty of your smile, offering services such as Zoom! whitening and porcelain veneers.

Sedation Dentistry

We understand that a lot of people have anxiety over dental issues. We want you to know that no matter how worried or sensitive you are, we understand and have sedation options that will help you to rest comfortably as we work on your teeth.

Of course the key to a healthy smile is keeping up with great oral hygiene routines like brushing and flossing every day. Don’t forget to come into our office at least twice a year to have a professional cleaning and examination done. We will do our very best to catch issues with your teeth while they are still in the early and preventable stages.

Taking care of your mouth is important for keeping it healthy and beautiful. For more information on all of our patient care services, contact us today!
